Church Leadership

Church Leadership

Acts 14:23 - Paul and Barnabas appointed elders for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, committed them to the Lord, in whom they had put their trust.

Oversight of the church, expressed in eldership, is established according to leadership gifts, divine call, and appointment. All persons called to positions of oversight will imitate Jesus Christ's style of leadership, which He taught to His disciples in Matt. 20:25-28. The elders must be people of Christ-like character with an ability to lead, provide care, equip, and biblically teach those in the church community (1 Tim. 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9). It is vital that the elders of our church walk in humility, servanthood, and transparency as they fulfill their roles of oversight (Acts 20:17-21; James 3:1-2; 1 John 1:7-9).

In addition to the internal governance structure, we have the accountability and support of the Harvest Network, an international association of churches and ministers. From this and other relationships, our local leadership has chosen counselors who provide regular third-party input and teaching. They also provide mature, neutral intervention in times of crises.
