God is the Creator

Genesis 1:1 - “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (NIV).
Hebrews 11:3 - “By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible” (NIV).
There is no one like God. He created the universe out of nothing. Our greatest ideas and inventions always use something that has already been created. The creators of electricity and the telephone used wires and magnets to produce their incredible inventions. The creators of the microchip used sand that was created by God’s command. God created, sustains His creation and continues to create (Isa. 46:4; 65:17; Eph. 2:15; Col. 1:17). He can’t be stopped. God is always at His work, bringing life into this fallen world (John 5:17, 21). And as the Father is creative in His nature, we who are made in His image also have in-built creativity. We can co-create with God (John 5:17-21). We are creative beings like our Father. This sets us apart, makes us distinct. We can never create out of nothing. But, we can follow Jesus, as He says, “The Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does” (John 5:19).
